Room 114  — As the 2022- 2023 school year kicked off, SJP welcomed back students and faculty to the school building in early September. Many new faces, both students and faculty, filled the corridors and classrooms. One of these new faces is Dr. Gallogly, who joined the SJP faculty this year as the new Latin teacher and senior advisor. She also teaches the popular elective course, Anthropology.  Dr. Gallogly comes to SJP with a great deal of experience. As an undergraduate, she attended Wellesley College where she studied Latin and Ancient Greek. She went on to earn her Masters in Latin and Classical Humanities from UMass Boston, and a Doctorate, with a major in Latin and Ancient Greek from the University of California-Berkeley.

Community is emphasized as an important fundamental aspect that makes up SJP. Dr. Gallogly has already been able to experience a splendid and warm welcome at SJP. She described her thoughts about the school so far saying, “It is nice to be a small community where everyone has the time to get to know one another.”

The school’s close-knit “SJP Family” is truly what provides a  friendly atmosphere where everyone is able to feel appreciated. The students and faculty are what make teaching at SJP special, and everyone is always there to rely on each other.

Dr. Gallogy explained what she has noticed about the people within the community saying, “The students are very dedicated and hardworking and fun. The other staff have been very friendly and helpful to me as I learn the ropes.”

Overall, Dr Gallogy is very enthusiastic about teaching at SJP this year. She is already looking towards the future and stated, “I’m looking forward to learning about school traditions.”

SJP is already planning numerous fun events for the school year,  bringing back some favorite traditions and perhaps creating new ones for those who have just joined our school community.

SJP is excited to welcome Dr. Gallogly to our faculty and cannot wait to see all the great things she does for the school!
