Graduates & Families of Class of 2013 celebrate Baccalaureate Mass and Awards Dinner
Saint Joseph Preparatory High School celebrated its first graduating class, the Class of 2013, at the school’s inaugural Baccalaureate Mass and Awards Dinner on Monday evening, June 3.
Graduates participated in the Baccalaureate liturgy as lectors, altar servers, and choir members, and families of the Class of 2013 presented the gifts during the offertory. Celebrant and homilist, James Gartland, SJ, of the Jesuit Community at Boston College, gave a beautifully and powerfully compelling sermon on the themes of gratitude and service, inviting graduates to reflect on how they can continue to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
At the Awards Dinner, in the company of parents and guardians, each graduate was presented with a senior gift. Scholars were recognized for their participation in a number of clubs and activities, including Robotics, Theater, Origami, STEP Team, Book Club, Math Club, Project Rachel, Campus Ministry, Leadership Council, and National Honor Society.
