College Counseling

Saint Joseph Preparatory High School offers a comprehensive post-high school planning program that begins with students in their first year of high school. We work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty and educational partners to support students in their exploration of college and post-high school options. By incorporating self-interest inventories, career assessment tools and standardized test preparation, we offer students a holistic approach to evaluating the many college and university programs available both domestically and abroad. We encourage students and families to contact the College & Guidance Counselors to discuss these resources and tools.

Naviance: This online college planning resource is an integral component to the Guidance office curriculum. All students are given accounts during their sophomore year. Students will use this site throughout their high school careers and are encouraged to keep their information up-to-date and to check regularly for news and announcements. Juniors and seniors will use the site a great deal during these academic years for resume building, college search engines, scholarship databases, requesting letters of recommendation and updating college application lists.
