COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY COLLABORATORS

Each spring, members of the Freshmen Class travel down the street to Boston College as part of the College Road Experience, providing students a real taste of various aspects of college life. The afternoon begins with lunch in one of the BC dining halls followed by an Admissions presentation where students learn about the many facets of preparing for college. The trip concludes with small-group tours where students are able to see the exciting “buzz” of a college campus in the academic, athletic, and community arenas. One may even run into a couple of SJP alums while visiting! This is what one student had to say about the experience:

“Even though we’re only freshmen now, going and seeing the campus was a great way for us to gain perspective; 3 years can go by really fast!” - Alyssa M. ’20

Saint Joseph Prep offers two dual enrollment programs in collaboration with Regis College and UMass Boston which will further prepare our students for college-level expectations.

Centered on the Advanced Placement curriculum, the Regis program offers college credit to students enrolled in the program and enrolled in AP courses at SJP. The offerings include AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, and the entire selection of AP classes at Saint Joseph prep, except for Computer Science.

Unlike many college credit programs that require high school students to travel to a college campus, students who are enrolled in the program attend their regular AP class at SJP.

Specifically geared toward our Latin students, the UMass program affords Latin scholars at SJP the ability to earn both AP credit and college credit accepted at any UMass campus. Spearheaded by Latin teacher Ms. Michele Becker, the program allows her to challenge her students further than the traditional AP curriculum currently permits.
