April Student-Athlete of the Month

Saint Joseph Prep features a Student-Athlete of the Month. Based on the recommendations of their coaches, student-athletes are considered on a variety of criteria including performances both on and off the field/court/pitch/links/pool/ice. The April recipient of this honor is SJP Boys’ Tennis team’s Dante Salvucci ’17!

Dante Salvucci is more than just a senior captain on the Boys’ Tennis team; he is responsible for starting the team three years ago when he petitioned the School to create a program! Since that time, he has been an everyday starter, playing both doubles and singles matches. This year, he has earned his role as the team’s #1 singles player, but his greatest contribution goes far beyond being the most talented player. Dante works hard in practice, encourages his teammates, and makes sure the team is progressing in their individual development. He is a fierce competitor, and at the same time, a respectful sportsman.

According to Coach Faherty, “I have had the pleasure of coaching Dante for four years in soccer and three years in tennis, and he has consistently set the bar high as a leader and student-athlete. Dante takes three Honors classes in addition to AP U.S. Government and Politics. He is a very deserving student-athlete of the month.”

Congratulations, Dante!
