Admitted Students Welcomed at SJP

Saint Joseph Prep welcomed members of the Class of 2021 for an evening of conversation and community on Tuesday, February 28. This was an excellent opportunity to learn more about the many unique and exciting programs offered at Saint Joseph Prep, and a wonderful chance to connect with current students, parents, and faculty members.

Accepted students and their families were treated to student speakers in Phoenix Hall, brief demonstrations in the classrooms, and a casual reception in Cafe Phoenix. Aidan Wech ’20Sydney Jenkins ’19Connor Lewis ’18, and Cali Lapenta ’17 each spoke eloquently of their expectations and experience at SJP. Head of School, Tom Nunan, offered an inspired address, and then guests were invited to visit classrooms hosted by several teachers, and a few students, where they learned about the Freshman Experience, Cross-curricular Programs, and the school’s collaboration with the community and other beneficial resources. Additionally, there was a panel of eight students (two from each grade) available in the Learning Commons to answer questions about student life and classroom expectations from their point of view. Anthony Bradley ’17, Emma DiMarino ’17, Mitchell Devlin ’18, Hannah Sansone ’18, Shadi Lopez ’19, Brendan Murphy ’19, Nikolas King ’20, and Melissa Vallucci ’20 completed the panel and spoke authentically to all who gathered.

After the classroom demonstrations, the guests packed the school cafeteria to confer with representatives of the many sports and clubs at Saint Joseph Prep. Current students and their families eagerly shared stories of their own experiences and love of the SJP community.

Thank you to our guests, as well as our student and parent volunteers, for making the event such a terrific success. We look forward to welcoming the incoming Class of 2021 this fall! Go Phoenix!
