December Student-Athlete of the Month

Saint Joseph Prep features a Student-Athlete of the Month. Based on the recommendations of their coaches, student-athletes are considered on a variety of criteria including performances both on and off the field/court/pitch/links. The December recipient of this honor is SJP Girls’ Basketball’s Hannah Sansone ’18!

The SJP Girls’ Basketball team finished December with a 4-1 record due in large part to this player’s leadership and production on the floor. As one of our three captains, Hannah has done an excellent job setting the tone in practices and games, specifically getting the team (and often her head coach) back on track if our focus wavers. In practice, where she has had perfect attendance, she leads by example and models the pursuit of constant improvement by using breaks as an opportunity to work on different skills. In games, Hannah is a fiery competitor with great court vision and a deadly three-point shot, which helped her score 16 points in a win versus St. Clement. Most recently, she topped that achievement by scoring 18 points against Notre Dame Cristo Rey!

Off the court, Hannah maintains a strong GPA, consistently earning Honor Roll status each quarter. While carrying a workload of three AP classes and two Honors classes, as well as being active in sports and other extra-curricular activities and outreach programs, she earned the highest level, Headmaster’s Circle, for Quarter 1 of this school year.

Congratulations, Hannah!
